Artist in Residence 2022 | Shelby at Northside | Fort Worth, TX
Caroline A. Reynolds
Fort Worth based painter, Caroline A. Reynolds, is the Artist in Residence at the property Shelby at Northside located at 1852 E Northside Dr, Fort Worth, Texas. Caroline specializes in “Academic Realism,” the painting and drawing method taught by the Atelier system in Europe and The United States.
Caroline’s training began at a young age, being raised by an Art History Major/Interior Designer (mother) and Landscape Architect (father). After getting married in 2016, Caroline and her husband Joel traveled to Africa where they had the experience of a lifetime. Upon returning to the US in 2020, Caroline joined Texas Academy of Figurative Art to hone her skills in portraiture, drawing and painting. She is also a professional live wedding and event painter; painting in the “all prima” style, with which she captures the essence of people’s special days.
She pushes the classical technique of her academic training towards the contemporary, capturing iconic moments of fashion, profound moments in life i.e. marriage, and growing families with the flare of high fashion luxury. It is Caroline’s belief that beauty still matters in our world today. It is that beauty that she communicates to her viewers in unique ways. Whether it is the piercing gaze of a portrait, the delicate, fleeting quality of a flower, or the dance of sunlight across a landscape, viewing her work is an experience that will transform the way you see, experience, and appreciate the world around you.
Caroline has introduced exciting arts programming to Shelby at Northside residents such as Painting Flowers After Brunch, a Field Trip to the Amon Carter Museum, and Learning to Paint En Plein Air (outside).
