Amirah Grady
Chef Amirah Malika is the oldest daughter of two Baltimore natives. Born into a large family, she learned at a young age the principles of honor, self-respect, and family. She uses her life experiences and professional expertise to inform her work in the community.
A formally trained professional teacher, Chef Amirah spent the first part of her career teaching students around the country. She then chose to leave the school system for an opportunity to continue her work through her legacy, Ancestral Alchemy.
Ancestral Alchemy is a traveling experience for the collective, an incubator of energy work through the traditions of family and holistic healing. Chef Amirah Malika prioritizes her artistry through culinary arts, crochet fashion, birthwork and community healing workshops. Her food events and meal prep offerings are an iteration of her commitment to providing clean, whole, organic foods to ALL. She encourages her clients to eat locally and with the seasons, as this not only ensures one is getting the best product possible but also helps one be more energetically attuned to the world around you.
She is dedicated to authentic living, promoting the benefits of being mindful of not only putting great things in your body, but also on it. So she pairs her culinary knowledge and skill with creative knowledge passed down to her to also create beautiful one-of-one crochet fashion pieces. Whether in the kitchen, or on the runway, Chef Amirah is sharing her passions with a smile.
"Sharing my creations, especially my culinary creations, is an act of love. I intend to use my work to spread love and build bridges across different bloodlines. I intend to share the traditions of my family with others through community meals and other experiences that promote food and fellowship. I want to share my perspective on how to create traditional meals with modern techniques and quality ingredients some of our ancestors only dreamed of having access to."
“I am extremely passionate about my work and community engagement. I pride myself on my integrity and commitment to the principles taught to me as a young girl. My only mission in life is to live in my truth and spread love through my gifts. The pressure of maintaining a safe household where I have the space and freedom to create is a task no matter what state or country I live in. If given the opportunity to not have to choose between rent or a community food event, I know I would be able to do so much more with my gifts. Thank you."
Amirah Malika is also a traditional certified birthworker. Amirah believes that all womb carriers, birthing parents, and angel parents deserve soulful, intentional rites of passage. Grounded in the alchemy of divine connection, she empowers families with the tools and resources to create their own philosophy, honoring the legacy of their ancestors. Through her work, she fosters truth, self-knowledge, and the continuation of righteous ancestral practices.
As a Dallas resident for over two years, she is making her mark on the metroplex. From baby showers to music festivals to community events and fashion shows, Dallasonians are starting to recognize Ancestral Alchemy as a source of the purest love. Whether through your stomach or love for fashion Amirah is sure to make an impact.
As an Artist in Residence, Amirah looks forward to combining all of her interests in dynamic hybrid events that foster community with food, fun, and collaboration at the center.
